Descent of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh £8.00

Sorry, this combination has sold out.

Description

Prince Philip's ancestry was a microcosm of European royalty. Like the majority of Europeans, he was descended from Charlemagne, and also from other key figures of the early middle ages who began the long process of creating centralised states in Europe – Hugh Capet, Welf, Alfred the Great and Kenneth McAlpin. Later ancestors include William the Conqueror, St Louis IX of France, and the Empress Catherine the Great.
